Oh i should also have clarified idols/fans hooking up is also very compromising for both in the case of fans they can be intimidated into stuff or taken advantage of and for the idols they can be 'exposed' (not saying those are equal in impact but they're obviously both unjust). that can all happen with dating too since there's not always a clear line between those dynamics but lots of idol sex scandals seem to revolve around obviously shitty hookups
