I haaaate seeing taerae dance like at first I was gonna give him grace and be like “well he’s still learning and he’s the main vocal so he gets a bit of a pass, he’ll get better eventually” but he’s barely gotten better at all and it’s been over a year??? Not shading but some of these fansign gurlies look really pretty from the back with their silky hair and floral blouses but their faces are average, they just know how to decorate themselves unlike gg male fans who completely let themselves go. From being in kpop for awhile most of these fan daters happen with smaller nugu groups because they have a lot of spare time in between comebacks and need ego boosts to make themselves feel relevant because their group isn't giving that dopamine. yeah nothing inherently unethical with dating if theyre both adults and if a fan is ballsy enough to pursue an idol romantically theyre likely already in that scene or at a certain status and know what theyre getting themselves into. even with power balances considered you cant just strip them of their individual agency, dynamics like that should be taken case by case and not interpreted to fit the most convenient narratives. tbh i'd also say hooking up with fans isnt always bad either it's just much dicier bc there are too many incentives for both parties to be dishonest and messy in their motives and feelings (the idol stringing the fan along acting like they want a relationship then ditching them after sex; the fan claiming to be ok with no strings attached then wanting revenge for their own dissatisfaction/regret). Reminds me of how knetz/other east asians used to hate on gyopo/east asian models in the west so hard online and claim westerners were racist for finding distinctly Asian features beautiful and exotic or wtv (models as a whole are meant to look "exotic" or otherworldly which yes is interpreted as ethnic at times it's really not a big deal and doesnt only happen to asians, saying this as a gyopo myself). I've seen so many comments like that where they'd call diaspora celebs/models ugly and caricatures for not fitting their standards or saying they're not portraying actual Asians correctly which is so crazy to me like yes there's some truth to it in the sense that Hollywood iconizes features but they'd just be mad they don't fit their current standards and still get praise like I've seen Lucy Lius looks bashed and she's gorgeous 😭 but agreeee I think the new rise has started to shape things differently and exactly standards are ever changing and different things will trend globally and locally
