I have met photographers and editors who don’t like to be told what to do or have their artistic or creative freedom / direction compromised so it’s not an absurd assumption to make that they back away from working with certain people if they know that’s going to be the case I don’t think they care so much about backlash from things as fans because if it’s not an actual controversial thing they have done it’s not going to ruin their reputation or anything in the industry but when people have a creative vision but it has restraints when carried out it can make them less enthusiastic or less willing to work with people. I’m not saying it’s the case here and I don’t think anyone should assume it’s the case either but it is something I’ve seen happen so I understand why anon might think that’s one of the reasons .

My best interview tip is probably chatting up the interview a bit and getting them to talk about themselves they'll just like you better on a personal level
