I think Taerae’s drop of popularity is a culmination of a few things: 1. A lot of his BP fans were casual (like what you said), 2. He has a very flamboyant personality and is SO obviously queer that there is no plausible deniability so that killed a lot of delusions that his fans had once more of his personality came out, and while he didn’t change since BP, back then he didn’t have as much screentime to showcase himself so voters probably didn’t know about him like that unless they watched the YouTube videos most people didn’t engage with 3. wakeone is honestly dumb as hell for not highlighting his vocals more, he blew up twice for his vocals outside of boys planet (reaching non fans) and wakeone has the brilliant idea to 1) give him barely any main vocal lines in their first album 2) take the very line that made him go viral during hot summer and give it to another member???? and everytime he does blow up for a cover (koms, idol next door etc.) they proceed to do absolutely nothing with the attention and then everyone forgets again, even in good night a band song and a ballad both of what taerae is known for they gave him at most 2 lines like wth is their goal its so aggravating atp even in run run a BAND SONG he had 2,5 lines and half of them were harmonised with a non vocal member it's 😕..... ☹️... especially if you see how big companies promote their vocals usually just look at sohee 🤕

I think ur underestimating the plausible deniability thing… also what other idol has as “flamboyant” mannerisms as tartar (and I do think it keeps coming up because it makes sense)? i think a big reason that ppl aren’t saying is that especially internationally a lot of taeraes fans were wakeonez fans and most of them jumped ship to evnne and hate zb1 so they just dropped taerae as a result or only casually pay attention to him every so often (like keitajunrae)
